Fitness for Everybody

No matter how or why you are here, and wherever you are on your wellness journey, I would love to join forces, support you, and cheer you on!

I am in the middle stage of my own fitness journey, and it has been a lot of trial and error to figure out what it is that works for me. Everybody is different- my goal is to build a  wellness lifestyle that works for me, and help others find what works for them.

Fitness looks different for me every day, and it’s going to look different for you! I try and mix it up so I don’t get bored, incorporating strength training, cardio, and recovery stretching and yoga. But fitness isn’t just about loosing weight.

For me, I want to have the energy to do all the things, feel confident in my food choices, and enjoy all the moments in life – big and small – with my family and friends.

I don’t want to have to worry about counting calories, or thinking about how long I have to workout if I reach for cookies instead of an apple, or if I have a cold beer after a hard day instead of more water.

I don’t want to stress all day at work in front of a computer screen, and then be disappointed that I didn’t meet a step goal.

Instead, I choose to focus on which of my choices make me feel good, and which of my choices make me feel not so good. From the food I eat, to the amount of time I’m moving my body, to the time I go to bed, to the quality time I spend with loved ones, it’s all a piece of the puzzle to reflect on that I can use to make adjustments for the next day.

Things I have found that positively impact how I feel include working out consistently, drinking 100-130 oz of water a day, avoiding massive amounts of sugar, taking my supplements, getting 6-8 hours of sleep every night.

But … I also feel better when I have a couple drinks with my best friend after a long week. And I also feel better enjoying a few Oreos and milk over board games with my nieces and nephews. And I also know, I will always find joy in a slice of pizza, a taco, or an ice cold draft beer.

It’s all about balance, right?

From my rollercoaster of a journey to get where I’m currently at, I know that anything extreme or drastic isn’t sustainable for the long-term. I’ll get defeated if I don’t see the instant results (hello instant gratification generation… I am here and I get it!), and swing just as extremely and drastically the opposite direction. I’m much more satisfied with my slow and steady progress, even if its going to take longer to reach my goals. I am here for me, and I am here for you.

Fun fact about me: I’m not intrinsically motivated to exercise – literally my DNA will never have me screaming “LET’S GO WORKOUT FOR FUNSIES”. So I am here for you just as much as you are here for me. My motivation to push play comes from the hope of helping someone else get closer to meeting their goals as I get closer to meeting mine.
